Chalkboards to Computers

9, March 2011

In fall 2010, the Missouri History Museum began working with the Lindbergh School District to create an exhibit produced entirely by students. The Museum worked with Ms. Jane Hake and her 4th-grade class at Truman Elementary, where the students acted as curators, designers, editors, oral historians, and event planners for the exhibit, titled Chalkboard to Computers: A Lindbergh School Retrospective. The Chalkboards to Computers exhibit ran from March 26 to August 10 and chronicled Truman Elementary over different eras, beginning in the 1960s up to present day. To complement the exhibit, the editors of History Happens Here focused on providing stories and artifacts related to the exhibit. And, if you're interested in reading more about the students' work on the exhibit, go to Ms. Hake's blog. See artifacts from Truman Elementary Read stories from former students and teachers
